Wind Ensemble membership is drawn from the most advanced performers in the band program. Students are selected through auditions held in the spring by the Director of Bands or his designee(s).
Symphonic Band is open to all students through auditions held in the spring by the Director of Bands or his designee(s). The Symphonic Band presents a balanced study of literature at the highest level and quality attainable by the ensemble.
Concert Band is open to all students through auditions held in the spring by the Director of Bands or his designee(s), or by successful completion of Beginning Band, or by the recommendation of a rising ninth grade student’s middle school band instructor.
Beginning Band is open to all students.
The Marching Atoms, Annandale High School's Marching Band, is a co-curricular ensemble activity comprised of members from the Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, and Color Guard.
Color Guard marches and performs as part of the Marching Atoms, performing with a variety of flags, rifles, and sabres to enhance the marching show.
The Band Boosters of Annandale High School fill the gap left for the band programs between what is needed and what the county provides.
The Boosters are constantly looking for ways to raise funds to help support the band. You can help!

CHARMS is the communication system used by the boosters and FCPS for communicating with students in the various programs.
Tri-M is a music honor society under the sponsorship and supervision of The National Association for Music Education (NAfME). The purpose of this organization is to inspire music participation, create enthusiasm for scholarship, stimulate a desire to render service, and promote leadership in the music students of secondary schools.
